Application plan

01 / Pre-plant, base dressing

Controlled base application

Broadcast and plough 15-20 cm deep. Calculate the rate from the yield target to avoid seed burn and waste.

02 / Seed dressing at sowing

Seed dressing for early vigour

Coat seed or apply in-furrow to suppress soil-borne disease and support root development.

03 / Stem elongation, top dressing

Staged nitrogen for stalk growth

Apply nitrogen with rainfall or irrigation to build strong stems and limit unproductive tillering.

04 / Tassel stage, supplement

Potassium for strong stalks and grain

Foliar high-potassium fertiliser plus zinc and boron improve pollination and grain set.

Expected benefits

Plan notes

Total nutrient demand is back-calculated from the yield target. For a 700 kg/mu target, apply 18-20 kg of nitrogen per mu: 60% as base fertiliser and 40% at stem elongation. Compound phosphorus and potassium supports ear development, with high-potassium water-soluble fertiliser and micronutrients added at the tassel stage to improve standing strength and grain set.
